2001 Season

Kit Watkins The 2001 Gatherings concert season began on March 10th with the music of Kit Watkins. From the subtle ambience of Circle and the Thought Tones series to the virtuoso musicianship of Beauty Drifting and The Unseen, this impressive Gathering concert presented two wonderful sets of Kit's focused melodies and his deep drift stylings. Thanks so much for being at this rare appearence by one of our nation's most talented and seldom seen artists.

James JohnsonOn April 21st, the Gatherings presented the area debuts of ambienteer James Johnson and Prana, the overtone singing octet headed by Baird Hersey. The evening's offering unfolded beautifully with Prana's candle lit performance of their enigmatic vocal harmonizations, followed by Johnson's dynamic and momentus synthesizer realizations.

Spectral VoicesThe Fall Gatherings season began on 15 September with a unique concert of ambient tuba soundscapes by Tom Heasley and the harmonic singing of Spectral Voices. Performing as a duo, Jim Cole and Alan Dow of Spectral Voices produced spellbinding vocal soundscapes through the manipulation of overtones created in the throat. Tom Heasley created a dense ambient soundscape of processed tuba tones. Overall, a healing and deep listening experience.
