Acclaimed multi-instrumentalist Robert Rich appeared at the Gathering on the very rainy evening of April 8th. The night began with a rare performance by Rich on Grand Piano, then on to two lengthy sets of primordial soundscapes. | Robert Rich | Ian Boddy | British synthesist Ian Boddy made his American concert debut at The Gatherings on May 6th. The heatwave contrasted the coolness of Boddy's two sets. Later, Boddy debuted a new live piece on STAR'S END. |
Jeff Pearce | On yet another steamy night in Philadelphia, soundscape guitarist Jeff Pearce and ambient chamber musician Kevin Keller performed a brilliant double bill on June 10th. Pearce joined Keller for the encore, their first ever live collaboration. Later, Pearce played a new long-form piece live on STAR'S END. | Kevin Keller |

Cathedral Interior | During the Summer break, an announcement was made by the Cathedral that the church sanctuary had to be closed for serious renovations. At the time of closing, it was unclear as to when the Cathedral would be reopened and once again available to the Gathering concert series. Therefore, another performance space had to be decided upon. | A thorough search of the vicinity was made and many churches and facilities were considered. Ultimately, it was decided to return to the church sanctuary of St. Mary's Hamilton Village, which is located on the University of Pennsylvania campus. History shows us that St. Mary's so adequately hosted Gatherings from November '98 to November '99. We look forward to experiencing our series of innovative music here once again. | St. Mary's Hamilton Village |

Dweller At The Threshold | On 23 September, the Gathering concert series featured the Portland based electronic music trio Dweller At The Threshold and chillout synthesist Synthetic Block. The concert was the first area appearence by either artist. | Synthetic Block |
On October 14, spacemusic legend Jonn Serrie, native flute virtuoso Gary Stroutsos and percussionist Larry Mahlis made their world debut live concert performance at the Gathering. The concert was a mix of classic spacemusic with sounds from the earth. | Mahlis, Serrie, Stroutsos |
Vidna Obmana | Internationally acclaimed electronic musician Vidna Obmana returned to Philadelphia on November 4th for his 2nd Gathering concert at St. Mary's. His 90 minute set took the audience through heavy rhythms and deep textures. Following the Gathering, Vidna Obmana played another all original live set on STAR'S END ambient radio. |
