Chuck van Zyl plus Fhloston Paradigm - 21 April 2018 - FREE ADMISSION

    Chuck van Zyl Fhloston Paradigm

As Fhloston Paradigm, noted Philadelphia Musician/DJ/Producer King Britt confirms that blending technology and music at this level can produce touching works - music as intimate as our own blood cells, with the structure and strength of just discovered alloys. With a gentle precision his music generates reassuring atmospheres of electrical synthesizer tones and digital textures.

Using modular systems, a variety of modern analog synthesizers and sequencers, and operating at an emotional and enthusiastic pitch, Chuck van Zyl realizes music that possesses as much the buzz and crackle of electricity as it does the frigid black of space. Anyone in love with Spacemusic and its very specific poetry will want to hear this in concert.

    Robert Rich & Markus Reuter - 19 May 2018

Markus Reuter & Robert Rich Robert Rich & Markus Reuter are well-known for their many musical journeys - from the back of beyond to the brink of the mainstream. In this concert exploration they will mainly explore tonality, and many of its subtle shades and moods. With Rich at the grand, and Reuter breathing out atmospheres and textures from his touch guitar and synth, this duo realizes subtle thought zones meant for pondering and questioning - more so than assurance and confirmation. As they work in this unique frequency, using melody and harmony likes signs and symbols, Rich & Reuter lean into the Avant-Garde. Locating tone is their mission, and their production of rarefied ambient zones touches a distinctive, inquiring energy. This duo knows about this music's secret mind, and in their dreamy, drifting, lulling, pulling sonics, we approach something like the actual flow of consciousness.

Robert Rich & Markus Reuter (plus soundscape guitarist Tim Motzer) perform at The Gatherings Concert Series on 19 May 2018. Cash Admission available at the door.
