0n 21 September 2002, synthesist Rudy Adrian travelled from his home in southern New Zealand to make his stateside concert debut in Philadelphia at the Gathering. With musical influences ranging from the floating spacemusic of the Berlin School to the breathing thought tones of the American Atmospheric scene, Rudy Adrian presented introspective layered washes of gently drifting sound accented by focused synth patterns and melodies. The performance referenced his albums Twilight, The Healing Lake, Irridescence, Kinetic Flow, Starfields and beyond. Adrian's concert realizations were accompanied by video projections of the stunning landscapes which are a great influence on his music.

Griffin - Fulton - Pearce 19 October 2002 saw the concert debut of Mike Griffin and Dave Fulton who performed an interesting set combing Griffin's laptop generated textures with Fulton's hand built modular synth modulations. Their performance was followed by soundscape guitarist Jeff Pearce and a profound set of short structured pieces from Bleed followed by cosmic, long-form works ala To The Shores of Heaven. For an encore, the three took the stage to perform together (for the first time ever) in a perfect blend of the three styles. Both Imprint and Bleed were released at this event.

Richard Pinhas returned to the Gatherings Concert Series in Philadelphia on 2 November 2002 and, along with collaborator Jerome Schmidt, presented new music based on the latest release Event and Repetitions. Though he is aware his Heldon/solo albums of the 70s "were way ahead of their time," Pinhas is not one to dwell upon the past, much to the chagrin of old fans. Once again, Pinhas earned the respect of the audience through his musical originality and the artist's willingness to experiment.
