Chris Meyer

Alias Zone is the atmospheric ambient electronic music project from Chris Meyer of Learning Modular. He combines unique sounds crafted on his modular synthesizers with field recordings, hand percussion and other elements in a unique, melodic fashion. Each slowly-unfolding piece is its own cinematic journey inviting you to explore his electronic dreamscapes and imaginary worlds.

Orbital Decay

Existing on a plane outside the oppressive rush of modernity Orbital Decay quotes the classics of spacemusic without mimicking them. Synthesist Terry Furber and guitarist Scott Watkins demonstrate a masterful grasp of the vintage gear around which the spacemusic genre gravitates to explore the past in a new way. Creating layers of space from harmonies warm and golden, in pumping sequencer patterns and strident lead lines this duo explores the inner depths of electronic music. Yet, out on the verge of ethereality their music gleams like new.

This event will also include the video artistry of Neil Cippon and Samara Talkin.
Generating projections of original, ever-evolving graphics onto the interior features of the St Mary's staging space, their visual output will align with the improvised live musical expressions conjured by the musicians.
