CIMA of PA German Electronic Musician Bernhard Wöstheinrich performs with Ombient in the remarkable setting of St. Mary's Hamilton Village and The Gatherings Concert Series on Saturday 13 April 2019. Worms of the Earth will provide an opening set of Dark Ambient Music

.

Bernhard Wostheinrich Bernhard Wöstheinrich speaks in his own musical voice. Providing a unique perspective in his increasingly frequent collaborations with a range of noted international artists, Wöstheinrich has quietly been playing with and influencing some of our community's most interesting talents. The musical arc of his work often moves from the curiously beautiful to the beautifully curious. Fully formed and thoughtful energetic songs are driven by a firm pulse amidst simultaneously sounding musical lines. With harmonies trailing behind melodies these shimmering works disintegrate into swirling unanchored abstractions of sustained tonal ambiance.

An intriguing listening experience, the music of Bernhard Wöstheinrich benefits from great conceptualization, arranging and musicianship. Together with local Electronic Musician Ombient (Mike Hunter) this duo pulls off their collaborations with startling brilliance.

Bernhard Wöstheinrich - live at The Gatherings 10 October 2015

From the portentous to the celebratory, the imagined worlds of Bernhard Wöstheinrich and Mike Hunter allow us to feel the peculiar pull of their journey of invention. Their concert team-up almost defies categorization. The audience will find hidden depths once they have tuned into the quieter frequencies. From a beautiful nowhere, and on up to gleaming harmonic cathedrals, their performance demands attention. A sophisticated work, that repeatedly meets our expectations of sonic innovation, this duo provides a range of listening experiences. Whereas lulling contemplative zones are deep and elegant, further along long held synthetic chords will mingle with electronic textures. The atmosphere lightens with building sequencer patterns and rhythms, rapidly running alongside grainy washes of notes. The occasional melodic hook gladly accents luxurious layers of rushing sonic formations, racing to keep up with the pattering of a machine pulse. What is out there beyond the rules? In the inventive interplay of sounds, tones and textures, Wöstheinrich & Hunter remind us of why we love collaborations - and how the endeavor can push boundaries and break open traditions.

Bernhard Wöstheinrich w/Ombient come to Philadelphia and The Gatherings Concert Series on Saturday 13 April 2019.

Following this public event, Bernhard Wöstheinrich w/Ombient will play a live-to-air radio concert on STAR'S END Ambient Radio. For more details, please access: www.starsend.org

Worms of the Earth Traversing an iillusory aural territory Worms of the Earth opens a gateway to the darkest corners of the human psyche. As its ancient tribal and gritty industrial elements coalesce with layers of arcane drones, ethereal choirs, and transcendent eastern melodies, this live work attempts to explore and understand the inverse realm of primordial chaotic energies. The focal point of the sonic explorations of Electronic Musician Dan Barrett is the creation of deep tracks with numerous subtle complexities.

Worms of the Earth will make his The Gatherings Concert Series debut on 13 April 2019.

Following this public event, Worms of the Earth will play a live-to-air radio concert on STAR'S END Ambient Radio. For more details, please access: www.starsend.org
